Maple syrup

We are happy to provide you with local Gatineau Hills maple syrup, from the J.B. Caron sugarbush. We carry their Grade A amber syrup, bringing you that wonderful maple flavour that you know and love.

J.B. Caron is located in Point Comfort, Gracefield, just 50 kilometres north of our farm. They run a good sized operation with 18,000 taps in their maple trees. In a typical year, each tap produces about one litre of syrup. Smaller trees get a single tap, while bigger trees may have two or three. The original sugary sap is mostly water that has to be removed to concentrate the sugar by filtering and boiling. It requires about 40 litres of sap for each litre of syrup produced.
